Travel Tips
May through September is the dry season in the Andes and the best time for Machu Picchu and the Inca Trail. The Amazon is warm and humid year-round, with a drier stretch from June to October.
Permits are limited and often sell out 3–6 months ahead during peak season (May–September). Your specialist will secure permits early once your dates are set, or suggest an alternate trek if the trail is full.
Cusco sits above 11,000 feet, so mild altitude symptoms are common for the first day or two. Your specialist can build in an acclimatization day and share simple tips to help you adjust.
Most custom itineraries run 8–12 days. A week covers Cusco, the Sacred Valley, and Machu Picchu; ten days or more lets you add Lima or the Amazon.
